Pantek Managed Services - Basic

Pantek will perform an initial check-up of the server, which will involve

• Determining the OS version and patch level
• Determining the services and ports that are currently open
• Reviewing the recent logs for current issues
• Performing the basic scan to check for unauthorized intrusions

The server must be accessible via SSH or a reasonable VPN configuration for the duration of the agreement. Before finalizing a support agreement, Pantek will spend no more than 30 minutes per server reviewing the system status and configuration,and has the option to refuse service if it does not meet our criteria. If the operating system is significantly out of date, purchase of additional support time may be necessary to bring the system to a maintainable state.

Pantek will keep the server up to date by performing monthly Operating System and security updates.

The server must be using an APT or RPM based Linux, Unix, or Solaris distribution that is expected to be be maintained with security patches by the vendor for the duration of the contract. If the distribution reaches end of life status during the contract, and updates are no longer available, an upgrade to a more recent distribution version will be required for updates to continue. A full distribution upgrade will require additional support time to be purchased.

Pantek will provide network monitoring and expert engineer emergency support.

• We will monitor the main services that are provided by the server
• Alerts will be emailed to Pantek and a customer configurable address
• An expert engineer will respond and support emergency outages

These service ports must be accessible by Pantek. It is preferred that the server is accessible via remote hardware access, such as a DRAC or KVM over IP, if available. Outage alerts will be emailed to Pantek and a customer requested email address. It is preferred that this address resolve to a text messaging capable device.

Basic Managed Services included

Pantek will provide on-going monthly professional grade vulnerability scanning

The results of our intensive security scanning will be reviewed by an expert security technician who will be available to notify you in the event of an open vulnerability and assist in closing the vulnerability.� If you are also a Cybrhost customer this scanning can be upgraded to scanning for PCI compliance in addition to the normal monthly vulnerability scanning for an additional fee.

Pantek will provide up to four hours of basic configuration on your server, network, or applications

These applications may include sendmail, exim, postfix, apache, lighthttpd, php, ruby on rails, mysql, postgresql, phpmyadmin, dovecot, bind, nfs, basic firewall or router setup, or operating system setup. In the event the basic configuration will take longer than four hours as described you will be notified and can complete the installation or purchase additional hours of support to cover completing the setup of the applications at a discount.

Pantek will provide network monitoring and expert engineer emergency support

• We will monitor (ping) the main customer IP addresses, to ensure the network is functioning
• Alerts will be emailed to Pantek and a customer configurable address
• An expert engineer will respond and support emergency outages

Basic and Standard Managed Services included

Pantek will provide up to eight hours of configuration on your server, network, or applications

These applications may include but are not limited to sendmail, exim, postfix, apache, lighthttpd, php, ruby on rails, mysql, postgresql, phpmyadmin, dovecot, bind, nfs, LDAP, Asterisk, OpenSER, Tomcat, Oracle (You are responsible for licensing), Sybase (You are responsible for licensing), nagios, zenoss, qmail, spamassassin, snort, squid, poptop, mod_perl, openvpn, amavisd, clamav, courier-imap, courier-pop, courier-authd, samba, firewall or router setup, or operating system setup. In the event the basic configuration will take longer than eight hours as described you will be notified and can complete the installation or purchase additional hours of support to cover completing the setup of the applications at a discount.� If your system is already setup this time may be applied towards fine tuning your server, network, database, or applications.

Pantek will provide up to twelve hours of system tuning for your server, network, database, or applications

The time may be put towards evaluating where bottlenecks are currently occurring and making changes to prevent bottlenecks in the future, database fine tuning, network and firewall optimizations, or modifications of settings in the operating system to provide optimum performance including custom compiling the kernel and applying performance and functionality enhancing patches tailored to your specific needs.� If you require beyond twelve hours of performance tuning you can purchase additional hours of support to cover the tuning of your servers applications at a discount.
