Forrest Green
Winter 2001

On Nov. 2, 2001, I received some very bad news... my friend
and anatomy lab partner had died that afternoon after class. A group
of first and second-year veterinary students got together to play football.
Unexpectedly, as he was walking off the field and talking with friends, he collapsed.
Even though everything was in his favor... students immediately called
911 and started CPR, and they were extremely close to the University
Hospital (on campus, no less), Zack was unable to be revived.

Even though I knew him for only a short time, I felt profoundly affected
by this loss. It was shocking, unreal, and unfair. It's fair to say I
took it badly. He was a great person, and he was going to be a
fantastic veterinarian. I miss his friendship very much.

He was only 24, and newly married. My class, OSU College of Veterinary
Medicine class of 2005, has decided to set up a memorial fund in his
honor (pending approval by the family). I would like to donate an
appropriate amount, so I made this costume in Zack's honor to raise
money for the fund.

This costume is now proudly owned by Donna Looman. Thanks for much for helping
me contribute to the family!!

As with all my work, high-quality components were used.
This costume features micro beads, gold-plated round beads, antique hand-cut
beads, gold-filled chains, printed silk fabric, and tassels in forrest and
light green with a few gold accent tassels.
